Erikoisnäyttely 2027 tuomariesittely: Patrick Hultink

Patrick Hultink - Kennel Kykado, Alankomaat

I want to thank the Finish Dalmatianclub for the invitation.

I was born 54 years ago and I am familiar with dalmatians when I met Chantal during a holiday in Spain in the summer of 1999.

At that time Chantal had a dalmatian called Kyra. But when we decided to live together Kyra stayed with Chantal’s mother in the south of the Netherlands. But while living together we missed a Dalmatian. At that time a dalmatian male called Laguna Dios Duran Duran (Kaj) was on his way to the Netherlands. Kaj was a light spotted dalmatian, not a real showdog but he could move like a train..

After Kaj, we had two bitches Donna (Rocca Al Mare Donatella) and Lara (Ch. Alphadirato Glitter Girl). With both ladies we bred two litter each in 2006 to 2012. End 2011 we noticed that Solbo’s Kayo was looking for a new home. Kayo was our choice to become the father of our D-Litter with Lara. So Chantal and I discussed if we could offer Kayo a forever home.

When Kayo came to us we worked hard so that Kayo and Chantal became a team at dogshows. I know, a great dog and a good handler are not a team immediately.

Thanx to Kayo we had a few great years at dogshows. When I was “handling” Kayo at the dog walking area, mostly outside, Chantal showed Kayo in the ring to a few Championships in Europe. Most proud we became in 2014 when Kayo became Best Of Breed at Crufts in the United Kingdom and Best in Show at an International Dogshow in The Netherlands.

But as the times goes by, and our dogs getting older, we were not entering dogshows at that time. That was for me the start of the first course kynological knowledge. After a few local and national courses and of course a lot of internships with experienced judges I past my exam for judging Dalmatians in 2024. The last few years I judged a few Dalmatian clubshows, national and international shows.

At this moment Chantal and I live with our dalmatian Teddy (Tamilanda Going Dutch) and our two miniature wire-haired Dachshunds Nova and Emma.

I hope to see al your beautiful dalmatians the 6th of February 2027.

Remember:

Winning a CAC is great, winning Best of Breed is better.

But having your dalmatian as a friend is the best !!

Greetings, Patrick
