Erikoisnäyttely 2027 tuomariestittely: Leelo Ratas

My name is Leelo Ratas, and I am an internationally recognised Estonian Dalmatian breeder and exhibitor with more than 30 years of experience with the breed. In 2025, I became an approved Dalmatian breed judge, opening a new chapter in my lifelong dedication to Dalmatians.

My first Dalmatian came into my life in 1995. My foundation dogs came from the renowned Swedish kennel Rocca al Mare, and in 2000, I bred my first litter under the kennel name Alphadirato.

Over the years, I have bred, owned and handled Dalmatians that have achieved European Winner, World Winner, Crufts Winner and international championship titles. Dogs bred under the Alphadirato affix live in many countries and have contributed to breeding programmes around the world.

Among the most memorable dogs in my breeding journey are Alphadirato Exact Copy, European Junior Winner 2005 and European Winner 2007 and 2008, and Alphadirato Future Brand, European Winner, World Winner and Crufts Winner in 2010.

While I am proud of these achievements, my dedication extends far beyond the show ring. I care deeply about the Dalmatian’s future and strive to make a lasting, positive contribution to the breed. My priorities are correct breed type, sound construction, health and stable temperament, together with the ability to be a much-loved family companion.

Since 2005, I have trained show dogs and their owners, helping them develop confidence and a strong partnership. I am also a founding member and vice-chair of the Estonian Dalmatian Club.

Although I am at the beginning of my judging career, I bring decades of practical experience as a breeder and exhibitor to this new responsibility. I approach judging with care, an open mind and a commitment to continued learning. My aim is to assess each dog fairly against the breed standard and recognise the qualities that are important for the breed’s future.

It is a great honour and pleasure to be invited to judge this Dalmatian Specialty Show. I look forward to meeting fellow breeders, exhibitors and enthusiasts, appreciating the dogs presented to me and sharing a memorable day dedicated to the breed we all love.
